MEET THE TEAM BEHIND THE NEW YORK WOLVES

The New York Wolves enter the United Grid League in 2026 with a leadership team that blends business experience, athletic development, and coaching expertise. Here’s a closer look at the people building the League’s newest franchise.

Jennifer Powers

Team Owner

Powers serves as the driving force behind the Wolves, handling both the finances and organizational leadership of the new franchise. Her background in event production gives her a unique perspective on building audiences and creating experiences around Grid League competition.

Powers doesn’t plan to coach but sees herself as the strategic architect of the organization.

“I’m committed to growing this sport professionally,” Powers said.

Powers views the Wolves as more than just a new team – she wants them to demonstrate how expansion franchises can operate with both entrepreneurial energy and league compliance. Her long-term vision includes the possibility of coaching down the line, but for now she’s focused on building the team infrastructure that will support sustained success.

Sam Krivit

General Manager

Krivit brings event management experience from running the “Fight for the Fittest” competition series, but he’s upfront about being new to Grid League strategy and operations. He describes his role clearly: focused on roster development and day-to-day management.

His approach emphasizes team culture and strict adherence to league recruiting rules. Krivit takes a cautious approach to player contact, making sure the Wolves respect boundaries and timing requirements when reaching out to potential athletes.

“I want to build this roster legally and with respect for league recruiting rules,” Krivit said. His recruiting strategy targets athletes from outside Grid League, particularly from the Northeast region where the team can build local connections.

Krivit plans to run combines during the offseason to identify talent before resigning windows open. He’s focused on character and potential rather than just prior Grid experience, believing the right athletes can develop Grid skills with proper coaching and support.

He advocates for hiring experienced Grid coaches to complement his and Powers’ organizational skills, recognizing that successful team building requires expertise in areas beyond event management.

Lexie Wohlfort

Head Coach

Wohlfort brings the Grid experience that rounds out the leadership team. Her background spans CrossFit competition and coaching, along with community engagement work that shapes her coaching philosophy. She also competed as a player for the 2024 Champion Atlanta Wild.

She emphasizes holistic athlete development, focusing on confidence building, communication skills, and mental resilience alongside physical training. Wohlfort plans individualized approaches for each athlete, particularly targeting “silent grinders” who typically don’t ask for help or feedback.

“I want the Wolves known for compassion, support, and professionalism,“ Wohlfort said. Her coaching vision centers on creating an environment where athletes feel supported in both their athletic and personal development.

Wohlfort plans to develop athlete leadership and self-awareness, including how players interact with coaches, referees, and opponents. She sees Grid League as an opportunity to apply the structured support systems she‘s used in CrossFit coaching to a team sport environment.

Her long-term vision for the Wolves includes building a reputation for developing athletes who compete with both skill and character, representing the team and league professionally in all interactions.

Building the Foundation

Together, the trio aims to create a Northeast-rooted team that operates with integrity while learning and building quickly. They’re establishing operations around sponsorships, logistics, and community building while respecting league norms and building relationships with other franchises.

The Wolves leadership sees their team as a potential model for future expansion: combining business professionalism with people-first team culture and deep respect for the sport’s growth.
