Tricia Davis

FORT LAUDERDALE LIONS

Strength Specialist

Height: 5’7″
Weight: 171

I come from a sports background, with track and field being my main sport throughout middle school and high school. Once I got to college, I played rugby for two years at UCF. I officially joined the CrossFit world in 2017 because I missed weightlifting from high school. That was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I haven’t looked back since. It’s been an amazing experience to grow as both an athlete and a person. This will be my sixth season playing for the league, and it’s still one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’m in medical school now, and I still can’t quite give it up yet. I’ll be playing for as long as I can and then some! I can’t wait for this new season to start. New colors, but same me with the addition of my little ribbon! See you on the grid!

MORE ABOUT THIS PLAYER

Rising Star in Grid League

Tricia Davis has become a cornerstone of the United Grid League over her five seasons of competition. Currently excelling as a Strength Specialist for the Orlando Aces, Davis previously made her mark with the Fort Lauderdale Lions. Her impressive lifting numbers speak for themselves – a 265-pound squat clean and a commanding 315-pound front squat that showcase why she’s earned her position as a Strength Specialist.

Journey to Athletic Excellence

Davis’s athletic story began at age 9 when she moved to Florida and discovered her natural talent for speed and endurance. In middle school, she dominated the track, setting the 100-meter dash record that still stands today. Her dedication showed early as she completed the “100 mile club” challenge every year of middle school while excelling in cross country.

Her athletic interests expanded in high school, where she took on weightlifting, flag football, and basketball while maintaining her track success. At the University of Central Florida, Davis found a new challenge in women’s rugby, playing for two years. In 2017, she discovered CrossFit, which she credits as a turning point in her athletic career. “It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” Davis says of joining CrossFit, which helped prepare her for her current role in the Grid League.

The Making of a Champion

Davis’s path to success began in Jamaica, where she was born before moving to New York at age 4 with her mother and younger sister. At 9, her family relocated to Florida when her mother remarried, creating the blended family that continues to support her athletic dreams today. This foundation of family support has helped drive her success both in sports and academics.

While building her athletic career, Davis earned her Health Sciences degree from UCF and is now pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor. She currently works in the Emergency Department at Advent Health, showing the same dedication to her medical career as she does to her athletic pursuits.

Life Beyond the Grid

As a Health Unit Coordinator in the Emergency Department, Davis manages crucial communications while working toward her goal of becoming a doctor. Her commitment to helping others extends beyond the hospital – she has a history of community service, including organizing local events and working as a recreational counselor.

Davis approaches life with purpose, living by her motto: “Every single moment shapes our future. Be intentional. Live on purpose!” This mindset carries through everything she does, from her lifting achievements to her medical studies.

Athletic Statistics and Achievements

At 5’7″ and 173 pounds, Davis has built an impressive strength foundation. Her current personal records include a 235-pound clean and jerk, 175-pound snatch, and 235-pound power clean. These numbers demonstrate the combination of power and technique that makes her a valuable asset to the Orlando Aces.

Tricia Davis represents the best of what athletes can achieve when they refuse to limit themselves to just one path. She continues to inspire others by showing that with dedication and the right mindset, it’s possible to excel in both athletic competition and professional aspirations.
