NY Was Crazy. Dallas To Reveal Playoff Picture.

The New York event was crazy. Over two days in New Jersey the defending champions lost twice, an expansion team won the first two matches in its history, and four of the six matches were decided by a single point or by a tie that the League had to vote on.

Five teams are sitting on exactly two wins. Nobody in the league has three. That is the entire 2026 season to this point. The playoff picture is wide open heading into Dallas on August 29.

Three teams from each conference make the playoffs. The top seed gets a first-round bye. Here is where that stands.

Breakers 19, Brigade 19

The best match of the weekend was the first one. Tampa Bay and Palm Beach traded races all afternoon, and neither could pull away. The Brigade spent their super wildcard before the match even started, swapping Brittany Latham in to take the opening ringer point race against rookie Nicky Rodgers, and won it. Palm Beach lost a challenge on the Echo and lost the flag with it. The Jack and Jill went to the Breakers, then went to review, then got rerun, and the Brigade took it the second time.

That is how a match reaches 19-19. The tie sent it to a tiebreak race, and it ended on a finish that is hard to describe. The full account is here: Breakers Awarded the Win After Unprecedented Finish.

Lions 19, Sharks 18

The Fort Lauderdale Lions took the Sprint Relay and ended the Southwest Florida Sharks’ regular season winning streak, which had run over two years. Three challenge flags went down on that final race, one from each side and one from a referee. Every ruling stood.

Lions coach and owner Melissa Capurro had called it a rematch of the 2025 championship before the first race. “This one’s personal,” she said.

Wolves 21, Flight 14

The New York Wolves and the Carolina Flight at Week 3 at American Dream.

Two expansion teams, neither with a win. Daniel Lynne crossed the line to close the Sprint Relay and New York had the first victory in franchise history.

Captain Mike Rosa had put it plainly beforehand.

“This is our home. So at the very least, defend your home.”

Brigade 19, Sharks 18

The Sharks lost again the next day, by a point, and lost it while winning the Sprint Relay. Tampa Bay finished inside the time cap, which is worth a point, and a point was all they needed. Rookie Nathan Tsuji zeroed out Valerie Gunning on the med-ball handstand walk to swing it.

Palms 18, Breakers 17

South Beach lost Jessica Plasencia to a leg injury in the opening race and burned their super wildcard mid-match to cover it. They won anyway, on Brett Henry closing the Sprint Relay, for the first Palms win of the season. Palm Beach, already carrying a week one loss to the Sharks, took their second.

“You got to be able to change things on the fly,” Clark Lawson said.

Wolves 20, Venom 17

New York closed the weekend 2-0 and moved into the second seed in the East. The match turned on a fan-voted ringer point race that had to be run three times, after two reviews found the same fault both times, with Las Vegas taking the third running on a photo finish.

The bigger swing came earlier. The Venom threw their bonus flag on the med-ball handstand walk, putting an extra point on the race, and then watched Wolves rookie Christa Devine beat CrossFit Games athlete Alec Smith. The extra point goes to whoever wins the race, so New York took three off a flag Las Vegas threw.
