New York Weekend Delivers, League Holds Official Score Announcement

The New York event was spectacular, and the feedback has been coming in from every direction since the last event. Fans, teams, American Dream as the host venue, and the broadcast partners are all reporting positive results from the weekend.

Thousands Walked Into It

American Dream put the Grid in front of thousands of new people who were exposed to the player’s and sport’s greatness. Staff spent the weekend fielding inquiries about how to get involved, from playing to hosting to sponsoring.

ESPN and Sports Illustrated TV

Both partners carried the sport over the weekend (ESPN+ was video on demand of a prior match, SITV was the matches hosted in NYC live) and both gave positive feedback about the initial traction the sport is getting on their platforms.

The Weekend Was Not Without Issues

Official score announcements normally go up on social media and the website shortly following the events. Those are being withheld until after a League meeting on Tuesday, August 18.

An incorrect time cap designation, combined with time limitations from the broadcast schedule, forced a post event, League wide assessment of the Brigade and Breakers match outcome. All team owners will review the circumstances and determine the best path forward given the situation.

This is rare, but it has happened before under similar time cap issues.
