Elite 7 Sports Medicine - Providing Safety for the Grid League

Yes, sports are inherently risky… injuries are par for the course in any sport where competition is fierce, emotions run high, and people are pushing their bodies to extremes.

Add in the element of contact, and injury risks skyrocket.

From Grid League’s perspective, the lack of person to person contact, coupled with the semi-controlled environment of the sport, and the fact that athletes are performing a series of movements where they have demonstrated proficiency, decreases the risk of injury. However, when it comes to sports, having professionals available to help when needed is still key.

As an event organizer, it’s difficult to know what level of medicoverage you need and what is appropriate. What is the cost to the organization? Do EMTs and Paramedics provide the right level of coverage for our athletes? Do they understand the sport and what our athletes need? While their scope of practice is wide and they are fantastic in emergency situations, they may not be the best choice to deal with sprains and strains.

The answer

This is why Grid League partnered with Elite 7 Sports Medicine in 2024, to provide the level of care and safety our athletes deserve, at an affordable cost.

So far this Season, teams and players have noted feeling well taken care of by Elite 7’s athletic trainers in the case of a skin tear, a nagging pain, an injury assessment, or working with each team’s medical professional to provide an extra layer of care. Having expert eyes overseeing all of the events on the GRID means allowing the professionals to do what they are best at and allowing the Grid League operators to concentrate on providing the best sporting experience possible.

Elite 7 also reviewed Grid League’s emergency response plan and helped create a more comprehensive document with the goal of clearly stating the proper procedures for any injury big, small, or life-threatening.

This nationwide group of professional athletic trainers are well versed in all sports, and their mission is to provide continuity of care for anybody who plays a sport or is involved in athletics of any kind (not just the most popular ones like basketball, football or hockey.) They provide services for CrossFit, martial arts, kickball, rugby, and just about any other sport out there. Plus, in the event of an injury, they have telehealth services available with the actual athletic trainer who treated the athlete at the event to make sure that the best plan to get back to their sport is in place.
