Grab a partner. Throw for $500 a day.
The Grid League Cornhole Open is a doubles tournament for anyone who owns a set of bags or wants to borrow one. Registration is included with the Full Weekend Master Pass, there is a double elimination tournament on Saturday and another on Sunday, and each one pays $500 in cash. It runs indoors, air conditioned, under ACL rules, on ACL spec boards.
You do not need a rating. You need a partner.
This is a tournament for the people who throw in the backyard, at the tailgate and at the bar on Thursday. Double elimination means one bad game does not send you home, and Sunday is a whole new tournament with its own prize money.
Supported by the American Cornhole League, which means ACL rules, ACL spec boards and ACL approved bags. Grid League runs it, so you know exactly what you are walking into.
A double elimination tournament each day
Saturday and Sunday are separate tournaments, each with its own bracket and its own $500 prize pot. Every team keeps playing until it has lost twice.
Winners bracket
Every team starts here. Win and you stay. Lose once and you drop to the losers bracket instead of going home.
Saturday and SundayLosers bracket
One loss puts you here and you keep playing. A second loss ends your tournament.
Saturday and SundayThe final and the reset
The winners bracket team meets the losers bracket team. If the losers bracket team wins, both teams have one loss, so one more game, the reset final, decides the day.
End of each dayTwo teams get paid each day
The places are fixed and published now rather than worked out after we see how many teams enter, so you know what you are playing for before you sign up. Everybody is paid in cash on site.

Saturday, $500
| Place | Cash | |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | $350 | |
| 2nd | $150 |
Sunday, $500
| Place | Cash | |

| 1st | $350 | |
| 2nd | $150 |
Check-in and game times
Check-in times, your lane and your first game time for each day go out by email before the event, along with the bracket. Play pauses for about ten minutes whenever a Grid League match starts so the whole floor can watch.
Standard ACL, nothing surprising
- Boards are regulation and set 27 feet apart, the same as any sanctioned tournament.
- Bring your own bags if you own a set. Any brand is welcome, resin fill only and no corn. Borrow a set at the check-in table if you do not.
- Scoring is standard ACL. A bag in the hole is three, a bag on the board is one, points cancel each round and there is no win by two.
- Calls are made by the players. If two teams cannot agree, the tournament director settles it and that ruling stands.
- Every board is indoors and air conditioned, which in Polk County in October is a real consideration.

A championship is going on a few steps away
The cornhole lanes sit alongside the Grid League championship. Grid League is a coed team sport where two teams race each other through the same movements at the same time on an 80-foot floor called the Grid. Saturday is the opening round of the playoffs, Sunday is the conference finals and the championship match, and your pass covers all of it, so between throws you are watching a national final from the next lane over.
Also on the floor, all weekend
Everything happens inside the RP Funding Center, 701 W Lime St in downtown Lakeland, with parking on site.
Registration is included in your Master Pass
The Full Weekend Master Pass is $43 and it is the one that gets you in the field. Both players on a team need one, so a team gets the tournament plus two full days of a championship for $86 total. The Single Day ticket covers that day of Grid League only and does not include the tournament.
28 spots
Signup closes when they are gone or on Thursday October 1 at midnight, whichever comes first. If spots are still open after that, you can sign up at the check-in table before play starts.
No second form
Pick the Master Pass, add the Cornhole Open on the checkout screen, and bring your ticket confirmation to the check-in table. That is the whole process.
Bringing a crew
Groups of five or more take 15 percent off every ticket, which is built for gyms, bars and leagues bringing more than one team.
